On September 16, 2021, Beijing Energy International Holdings Co., Ltd. successfully won the bid for Fengtai Station Rooftop Distributed Photovoltaic Power Generation Project, which was under the Beijing Railway Hub Fengtai Station Reconstruction Project. This is another important achievement of Beijing Energy International, as a local energy enterprise, to fulfill its responsibility as a state-owned enterprise serving the capital. The project also marked a major step forward for the company to develop new energy and comprehensive energy business in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region after winning the bid for the distributed energy project of Huairou high-energy synchrotron radiation light source(SRL) project of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2020.
Beijing Fengtai Station is located between West Third Ring Road and West Fourth Ring Road in Fengtai District, Beijing. It is a special railway station under the jurisdiction of Beijing Bureau Group of China Railway. After the completion of Fengtai Station, it will become the largest railway station in Asia and one of the key transportation hubs in China. The installed capacity of the project is about 6.5MW, and the estimated total power generation in 25 years will be around 176 million kWh. As per estimation, 165,000 tons of carbon dioxide, 5,160 tons of sulfur dioxide and 2,580 tons of nitrogen oxides will be reduced.
Going forward, the subsidiary Comprehensive and Smart Energy Company of Beijing Energy International will execute the project, optimize the design, organize the construction with high standards and high quality, ensure the synchronous completion of Fengtai Station and its station house, build a national first-class demonstration railway distributed energy project, fully translate the concept of “green transportation and green Beijing”, and contribute to the green development of the capital.
In the future, Beijing Energy International will actively expand the “Railway + Integrated Smart Energy” business across the national railway system, boost innovation and development, exert its strength on the user side, build a green and low-carbon clean energy ecosystem, and help achieve the dual goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality in 2030 and 2060 respectively.
