On January 13, Beijing Energy International’s 150MW agrivoltaic project in Fenghe, Fengjie County, Chongqing, was successfully connected to the power grid. This marks the company’s first independently developed and constructed new energy project in Chongqing, achieving a breakthrough in its new energy presence in the region and laying a solid foundation for future project development and construction.
The project is designed with an installed capacity of 150MW and includes the construction of a 220kV booster substation. It adopts an agrivoltaic model that integrates agriculture and forestry, implementing solutions tailored to local conditions such as cultivating forage grass, oil-tea camellia, and medicinal herbs, aligning with the trend of green and environmentally friendly agriculture. During its implementation, the project overcame numerous challenges, including complex mountainous terrain, steep slopes, and slippery roads in the photovoltaic area. The entire construction team worked collaboratively and tirelessly to ensure the project’s successful grid connection.
After commissioning, the project is expected to generate approximately 180 million kWh of clean, green electricity annually, equivalent to saving about 57,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 157,000 tons. This will deliver significant environmental and social benefits while further promoting the transition of Chongqing’s energy structure and driving high-quality economic development.
