On January 19, 2023, Feng Fei, Deputy Secretary of Hainan Provincial Party Committee and Governor, met with Zhang Ping, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Beijing Energy International and the company’s partners in Haikou. The two sides exchanged on the in-depth cooperation in investment and development in Hainan Province. Ni Qiang, Vice Governor of Hainan Province, and Fu Xuanchao, Secretary General of the provincial government attended the meeting.

Feng Fei introduced Hainan’s advantages in location, talent and policy as a Free Trade Port, highly affirmed the determination of Beijing Energy International and its partners in investing in Hainan and recognized the general idea of “promoting clean and low-carbon utilization of energy through landing industrial projects” proposed by Beijing Energy International. Feng Fei said that he would support and encourage domestic and foreign investors, especially Fortune 500 companies, to make joint investment across the full industrial chain in Hainan with high standards and large scale, in order to respond to the provincial government’s policy of “expanding the industrial chain and fostering industrial clusters”. He hoped that the company would accelerate the implementation of the project and land it as soon as possible.

Zhang Ping said that the company is willing to take Hainan as a key investment area, continue to expand its investment in clean energy on the basis of previous projects, and work with strategic partners such as Vestas, Sembcorp and China Merchants Capital to promote investment in super-large high-end offshore manufacturing industrialization bases of wind power equipment and projects, and help the province build itself into a National Ecological Civilization Experimental Zone and Clean Energy Island.
