On November 5, 2023, Zhang Ping, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Beijing Energy International, was invited by Mr. Graham Fletcher, Australian Ambassador to China, to attend a reception luncheon hosted by the Hon. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese during his state visit to China. Donald Farrell, Australian Minister of Trade and Tourism, Peter Hendy, President of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), John Brumby, former Premier of Victoria, Warwick Smith, former Chairman of the Australia-China Council and the inaugural Chair of the National Foundation for Australia-China Relations; Jia Geng, Vice President of Beijing Energy International, and representatives of Chinese and Australian enterprises attended.

At the luncheon, the Hon. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese welcomed the representatives of Chinese and Australian enterprises attending the luncheon and delivered a speech. He said that after the signing of the free trade agreement between Australia and China in 2015, bilateral trade volume increased significantly, and China became Australia’s largest trading partner, benefiting businesses and consumers in both countries. This trend will recover and continue for the foreseeable future.

During the luncheon, Zhang Ping had a full exchange with Donald Farrell, who spoke highly of the positive role played by Beijing Energy International in providing clean electricity and promoting local employment in Australia. At present, the company has installed 596MW of projects in Australia and an additional capacity of 346.2MW is under construction. The main projects are Gullen Range 165.5MW Wind Power Project (operational), Gullen Range 10MW PV Project (operational), Biala 108.5MW Wind Power Project (operational), Moorabool 312MW Wind Power Project (operational), and Wollar 346.2MW PV Project (under construction). Beijing Energy International now is the largest Chinese enterprise in the field of clean energy in Australia.
