On August 9, Beijing Energy International’s 300 MW Fishery-Solar Project in Xiamao, Sihui District, Zhaoqing, Guangdong, achieved full capacity grid connection. This is the largest single contiguous fishery-solar project constructed by Beijing Energy International in the South China, and its successful grid connection provides strong support for the high-quality development of the new energy industry in Guangdong.

The project has a planned total installed capacity of 300 MW and covers a total area of approximately 4,500 mu (658.8 acres). It includes the construction of a 220 kV booster station (with 30 MW/60 MWh energy storage). The project is implemented in two phases: Phase I with an installed capacity of 200 MW (connected to the grid on January 19, 2024), and Phase II with an installed capacity of 100 MW. The project adopts a “fishery-solar” model, which combines photovoltaic power generation with fish farming, allowing for electricity generation above and aquaculture below. This model achieves efficient use of land resources and ecological development.

After the project is fully operational, it is expected to produce approximately 360 million kWh of green electricity annually, equivalent to saving 44,200 tons of standard coal per year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 119,500 tons. The project boasts significant environmental and social benefits and will further contribute to local energy transition, aiding Guangdong in building a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient modern energy system.
