On September 20, 2023, the first batch of panda bonds of Beijing Energy International was successfully issued in the National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors (NAFMII), raising a total of 1 billion yuan, with a maturity of 2+N years and a coupon rate of 3.68%. The lead underwriter is China Merchants Securities, and the joint lead underwriters are Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Bank of China, China Merchants Bank and China Securities. The full-time subscription multiple of the bonds is 2 times, which fully demonstrates the high recognition of the company in the capital market.
This is the first time for the company to use its own credit standing to issue bonds in the domestic bond market since it was assigned ‘AAA’ long-term issuer credit rating. Part of the funds raised in this issuance will be directly used for procuring the components of the company’s overseas photovoltaic projects in the form of RMB foreign exchange.
The successful issuance of panda bonds is of great strategic significance for the company to optimize its financing structure, reduce financing costs and achieve high-quality development. Moving forward, it will continue to expand financing channels, fully capitalize on the advantages of clean energy projects at home and abroad, enhance the core competitiveness and help the development of the sustainable energy sector.
